Welp.
Today was already a bit of an adventure. In my Spanish class there are 8 of us...at least I think it's 8. The numbers keep changing as people come and go! Anyways, it's relatively small. I really do like that. There are 6 levels of Spanish: Basico 1&2, Intermedio 1&2 (im in intermedio 2!), and Avanzado 1&2. There are normally two classes in each level because they want to keep them really small. OK- so back to the story. Today we were presenting our Powerpoint presentations from the trip to the Museum the other day. We had to go to a differnt classroom bc our TINY room doesnt have a computer or projector, etc. So the first groups went, then finally it was my group's turn. It was me, Kelsey, and Rachel Tish. (I like them both :) ) We were talking about how they saved the best for last and I mentioned how I loved having a small class because it made presentations SO much less intimidating..... Well, about that time a different teacher came in and said he needed the room. My teacher said 5 min. But, instead of making his class wait outside during our presentation, HE LET THEM ALL COME INSIDE AND WATCH! And---- it gets better---- THE WERE TICO KIDS! aka LOCALS! ahha. So my group presented our presentation, IN SPANISH, with 22 local kids watching. It was a bit horrifying. haha. Kelsey started out our presentation by apologizing for our Spanish and saying dont laugh haha. We did ok, but once we were done on the other 5 people in our class laughed...yep. The other tico kids just stared. AWKWARD. hahaha. But its ok, can't get much worse can it?? :p
I forgot to tell you guys about my school!!! It is actually an art and archtecture school so all the local kids that go here are like artsy and stuff. They all dress really....coool? I dont know the word. The wear a lot of leather jackets, boots, and black. Kind cute. They are all pretty people too.... They all just seem to ignore us "gringos" (Whites). I want to be friends with them but am intimidated! Im afraid my spanish isnt good enough. RAWR. Ok well now I have a goal at least. Ive never been "the international new kid" before. Its an odd feeling ha.
Kelsey lives about 15 min away walking and we went to her house after lunch today. The point of the walk was to visit this really great store called Pequeno Mundo. I LOVE IT. It was my first time going and everything was SUPER cheap! I got two new shirts, one for 5 bucks the other for 7. Yep. So glad. ahah. Although the only problem now is how I'm going to get everything home ......
OHHH!! A few girls have replied to the Bible Study topic and I think we are going to do a Bible Study on Mondays at lunch time! IM pumped.
My Tica Mom has a really bad cold right now. I feel bad for her; she has a migraine and sounds so stuffy! And little Monsse had to get shots yesterday and is just pitiful! She has had a fever since last night and is super sore. She got one in each leg and one in each arm :( Poor thing. She was like hobbling around all night! I said she was like a "vieja" (old lady!). I want them both to feel better soon!
P.s. I have lost my most favorite pair of pants! :( I dont know whether they got lost in the wash or if I left them at the beach! Might seem silly, but please pray they show up!
